Simbang Gabi | Christmas Tradition

Simbang Gabi is a Filipino Christmas tradition. It is a series of nine masses on the days leading up to Christmas beginning on December 15 and ending on the 23rd of December. After Mass each night, traditional foods are served to churchgoers. Simbang Gabi is also preparation for Christmas and commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ. Completing the whole series of nine masses is seen as a way of requesting blessings from the Lord. Simbang Gabi is Filipino for ” Night Mass”.
